I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Cognitive Science department at UCSD, advised by Ed Hutchins in the DCog-HCI lab. I am supported by a CARTA Fellowship in Anthropogeny. I define my research domain as Computational Cognitive Ethology; my current research is on applying machine learning methods to large scale data sets to understand animal behavior and cognition. For those of you who wish the quick version, here’s my CV.
Before I came to UCSD, I attended Indiana University, served in the Peace Corps (Tanzania), and worked in the Education Sector of the Department of Veterans Affairs. You can read more in my bio. In my spare time I am learning to be an artist, a writer, and a runner. I enjoy reading, playing chess and board games, and programming new things.
